Casualty star Simon loses cancer fight he kept secret for years

CASUALTY star Simon MacCorkindale has died after a four year fight with terminal lung cancer.

The 58-year-old British actor who did not smoke passed away in the arms of his wife, the actress Susan George.

Last night she issued a dignified statement: “No one could have fought this disease any harder than Simon did since being diagnosed four years ago.

“He fought it with such strength, courage and belief.

“Last night, he lost this battle, and he died peacefully in my arms.

“To me, he was simply the best of everything, and I loved him with all my heart.

“He will live on in me forever.” (more…)

Simon MacCorkindale and Susan GeorgeTV star Simon: I Why I kept my cancer a secret

CASUALTY star Simon MacCorkindale has revealed that he is suffering from terminal cancer after keeping it secret for three years.

Simon, 57, who played consultant Harry Harper in the BBC medical drama, first experienced stomach cramps while filming for the programme in Bristol in 2006.

Shortly afterwards, he was diagnosed with bowel cancer. (more…)

Casualty star Simon MacCorkindale was ordered to pay 5,000 to a cyclist who suffered serious head injuries in a hit-and-run car accident.

MacCorkindale, 53 who plays consultant Harry Harper in the hospital drama was also banned from driving for two months after knocking over cyclist John Lilley.

The actor married to seventies screen beauty Susan George- told magistrates he collided with Mr Lilley after sneezing at the wheel of his Mercedes and losing control. (more…)
