In early November Simon revealed he has been battling cancer for three years in interviews with News of the World, Mail on Sunday and Hello. In these interviews he and Susan discuss how they are tackling the illness with traditional and alternative therapies. Messages of support that have been received by this site were forwarded to Simon who is thankful for everyone's 'enormous support'

Simon announced to the fans that despite his current illness he is still working and has filmed an episode of New Tricks due to air later this year. This news was confirmed in the Mail on Sunday a few weeks later

During his Sound of Music Simon managed to film 2 minor roles in films:

One as a literary agent in the film A Closed Book is due to be shown at Cannes later this year

We all know Simon can't sit still for too long so I have pleasure in confirming that next week Simon will start filming for a one off episode of New Tricks:

It will be a few months away at least, but we will see Simon again on our screens shortly
