Ooh sounds a bit good!

Well im ill, and therefore feeling terribly sorry for myself...buuut reading a good book at the moment called, "Blood Sweat and Tea" it's blog entries of this paramedic from south London, really good, one moment im laughing the next nearly in tears! After this one got another paramedic one called, "A paramedics diary, Life and death on the streets." Looks a bit swish I must say! Oh and a good few eppys of Casualty to watch, thanks Shelliwood! :)
Im feeling better already innit!

Really sorry to double post. But need to vent somewhere....
Thing is I have been asking my dad for two mice since last summer, or a hamster. I have had them before and bar one I took excellent care of them. He said no, and no, and again no. So did his partner. This went on for months. Anyway I get home today and guess who has got a hamster....Karens (his partner) daughter! She's 11. Yet im still not allowed mice. Why is this? I really don't understand. And my dad dosent stand up to her...he never will, she has him right where she wants him. I have only just settled down and started getting on with her after things that have happened in the past. But I am so angry. It may seem petty over a hamster but I think it's more about principles. Im more than angry im furious.

I don't understand this either. Mice or hamsters, what is the difference? I suppose that your dad is not willing to sit down and have a calm conversation about this? Al least you have the right to know why Karen does get a hamster and you not (or mice).
Parents can be so unfair sometimes.

Becky you're over 16 right? Can't you buy pets on you own, yes?

Now this is really bad advice (and could cause serious trouble) and you seem a bit of a rebel - (make sure you can afford if first, long term commitment, if not see if you can work a couple extra hours a week, to cover it) then go buy the cage, food, toys etc and don't forget the mice - two of the same sex so you don't have possible little one to handle - I bet the breed like rabbits ( ). If he says anything say as Karens daughter is 11 and has a hampster, and as you're more responible you figure that he was giving his consent for having mice, by allowing someone less reponsible to have a pet.

Or you could use that arguement first and dicuss like an adult - don't say it's not fair she's got an pet and I haven't, but come up with good reasons why you should have one
