Ok, anyone who thought I am an idiot, has been proved today! Please shoot me now as I let an opportunity to meet him slip by
(ask no questions please, but I am an idiot, tho I my defence I was being restratined, so to speak)
Anyway I went to see the play, which is the main thing, and it was fantastic. I have to say I've never like Dean Gaffney before, but now have a lot of respect for him, he was brilliant. No one else in the cast really stood out to me, oops.
Now to the important part, Simon. From the interesting
beginning to the final reverlation this was fantastic. Simon was truely excellent, and not like any other charater I've seen him play (and I've seen him in a lot, very un-Harry like.) He was quite comial in places, which is unusual, in what he says and does (expressions and gestures etc) but Simon did brilliantly, as usual, like there were any doubts.
There was one bit the I wasn't too keen on but then that's just personal preference (it's just something minor I don't like watching.) Simon from start to finish was his usual charming self, and seeing him up close was a truely amazing experience. His voice sounds so much deeper live and the power behind it is awsome. Just watching some of his mannerisms just a few feet away seem to bring him to life for me, ie no longer someone you just see on TV.
I think I spent the whole evening grinning and laughing queitly to myself when no-one else was, mainly by spotting things that make me smile watching him on screen, and spotting that in the performance and certain things he does time and again, no matter what your wathing him in. (Oh and he has his old hair style in it ie side parting, which I love, and have missed)
Simon was center stage for the final bow - where he should be.
Everything I could imagine and more. Tho it's amazing what will stay in my head and what's slipping away already.
Verdict 20 out of 10 - but then I'm biased
