I've seen both spellings. Which one is correct?

As far as I'm aware the Jonathan is the correct spelling, which is how it's spelt on the back of some of the publicity photo's I've got.

I think American's tend to spell it Jonathon tho, would I be right in saying that?

Also Enterprise - Jonathan Archer I've seen spelt at Jonathon, maybe it's people spelling it how they say it, it does have a 'on' sound more than 'an'? :?
