I'm unsure of what I'll think of The Unexpected Guest when I go to see it on 9th June since Simon won't be playing the lead role, he was the primary reason for booking the tickets. I'm going to see 42nd in September, Lazytown with my young niece & nephew in October and the panto in December so 2007 will be busy for me theatre wise.

It's a really good example of live entertainment, watching performers exhibit their talents live to an appreciative audience.

Sounds good, I'm not sure about going again in the immediate future but I might...

I saw The Lion King in London a couple of weeks ago and it was out of this world! The costumes were outstanding and it was very emotional in places. Right from the very beginning as soon as the 'animals' came out onto the stage and the powerful music combined, gave me the weeps

The Lion King is just one show I'd love to see, Mamma Mia would fantastic also.

The best show I saw was 'Tonight's the Night', it was about a young mechanic working in Gasoline Alley. He really fancied this girl but was terribly shy. He overcame that shyness and they eventually got together. The name on the show obviously indicates that the music was all Rod Stewart songs. I love Rod so I really enjoyed it.

If it comes to a theatre near you, go 'n' see it. You don't actually need to be a fan of Rod himself to enjoy.

I have the soundtrack of the original animated movie of The Lion King from years ago.
I went to see the movie twice in the cinema.
The music is wonderful.

I saw The Unexpected Guest last night and must admit I enjoyed it. Needless to say I choose the wrong character as who I thought was the murderer but it was thought provoking.

The gun shot at the beginning was quite funny because most of the audience just about s**t themselves, me included. I was impressed with all the cast.

I'd never saw Jack Ellis in anything previously, even on tv. The fact that Simon wasn't playing Michael Starkwedder is still a little disappointing but at least he'll be back in Casualty in less that a month now.

Glad that you still enjoyed it even though Simon wasn't in it. I must admit it got my brain cells working overtime trying to work out who 'dunnit' with all the twists and turns.

According to my local theatre they are showing a second production of the Unexpected Guest at the end August/September. It must have been quite a success for them to do another production.

I liked Eugene Washington, who played Henry Angell. He looked lovely and played a fantastic role in the play.

I visit the websites regularly for the 3 major theatres in Glasgow so hopefully if Simon does sign up for another theatre tour next year, I'll be on the phone immediately. Don't care what show it'll be. I probably wouldn't have booked for The Unexpected Guest but enjoyed it anyway, it just goes to show.....

Windsor right? They sent me that too, they haven't announced the cast yet tho, might actually watch it again would be different to see how another actor plays the same role. If I do I'd probably come out thinking Simon was better

Yeah it was Windsor! Like you said, it would be interesting to see what it will be like with a different actor.

Friends, please keep me informed when Simon appears in a theatre.
I might try again to come to the UK. (if I have saved enough money that is)

I'm hoping when he returns to theatre tours, it'll be an on stage performance and not purely the production/behind the scenes aspect of it. I feel I missed out a little when Jack Ellis replaced him in The Unexpected Guest however much I still enjoyed the show.

2008 should be an interesting year for him because I get the impression that his career will continue beyond Casualty.
