Has anyone else sent gifts to Simon? I've sent quite a few things to the Casualty address in Bristol - I'm sure he's received them all.

If you have, what have you sent?

Hi Clare, welcome aboard.

I did send something although I wouldn't have called it a gift, he probably thought I was nuts and already heard the rumors.

Personally I wouldn't send anything, that's just me. I would however, as a gesture instead of a birthday present etc, donate money to charity on his behalf. I think the benefit could be more that way and if your do it to a charity they support it could be good all round. Was one of the reason I asked what charities he supported.

Also sending gifts could mean he ends up in the 'elephant' situation again  which could be funny from this end!

Note to self - Must ask 'Why elephants?'

Got to ask why would you send gifts?

I think actors like to feel their efforts are appreciated - as we all do I suppose - so I think if the gift is original and applicable it's nice to be nice.

I'm sure he appreciates all the donations to his favoured charities. Does anyone have a suggestion & contact details? :P

Wouldn't you find it odd though if strangers were sending you gifts?

That's possible but I did receive an autographed photo with a very nice hand written message on the back thanking me for that particular gift. He did seem to relate to it.

Performers, whether tv/sports stars etc, will appreciate things as long as it's meant positively.

I guess it depends on the individual

To us, or people who are not famous, or in the public eye then reiceving gifts from strangers would most probably seem slightly strange! But to somebody famous I dont think it would seem that strange becuase they know they have fans, they know they have people that want to support them. Ok I know what I mean...

Editted to say - I don't mean to say that they are not human, but they probably expect such things.

Thanks Becky, I just feel it's a gesture of appreciation. Hopefully he enjoys receiving them as much as I do sending them.

Trying to find something different is fun. Getting all those elephants must have been a challenge to find somewhere to put them.... or dispose of!

Could you explain to an idiot {me} where you said they weren't human?

Oh I see, I get confused easily but I couldn't work out where you said that!

I have not sent a gift yet, but I certainly would not feel stupid if I do so.
I am also a big fan of Kenny Rogers and to him I already send gifts in the past.
Of course they don't mind receiving them. Like Clare says, it is a sign of appreciation of what they are doing.
It was nice of Simon to send you an autograph with some lines written on the back. That way you are sure that he received them.
Good on you, girl!
