Does anyone visit the blood donation centres? I provided my second donation today in Glasgow and it was really busy.

There's been radio promotions over the past week or so asking for donations because stock levels are sitting at an estimated 50% - 3 days supply instead of the necessary 5 or 6.

I'd recommed you to do it, it makes you feel better that you could help people waiting for operations or in accidents.

I wish I could donate blood, because I have O Negative.
Unfortunately I have to take too much medicines and receive a baxter every month for my pain, so I am not suited for this.
Otherwise I would do it for sure.

How old do you have to be, I think i'm to young yet. But I am on the donar list thing, you know for when you die they can use any part of me! Which is cool, because when i'm dead I will have no use for them, some people say they can take everything but their eyes which is quite unusual!

In the UK, you can donate between the ages of 17 and 66 so not long to wait Becky. Go to the blood donation website and that'll give you all the information you require.

Organ donation is a tricky one because you might carry the card stating your wishes but your family have to agree when the time arrives. Your wishes and your family's agreement have to go hand in hand.

I'm not a needle person so I have to take a deep breath but the reward is knowing you're helping someone in desperate need of blood. I would say put yourself in the position of either you or a family member/friend needing blood, you'd want sufficient supplies to be available.

Organ donation registration isn't something I've thought seriously about recently. I'm sure in many countries you actually have to opt out of that scheme. I had one of those cards years ago but lost it somehow.

I know there are people who insist their bodies be used by medical scientists for experimentation instead of burial or cremation.

For the moment, I'll stick to the fundamentals of blood donation.

I'm one of those unusual people!

My friend said that, when she's buried, they can take everything but her eyes and put in her cigs, lighter and torch beside her. Just so she can see what she's doing. Quite sick and funny all in the one sentance.

Personally, they can take whatever they want from me. I don't really care. I'll not be alive to know any difference.
