Is anyone affected directly by the flooding?

Has anyone got friends and family affected by the flooding?

I have a friend who has had all roads in and out of where she lives flooded and we have all been worried about her but she contacted us today and the water is going down and she can now get into work.

She hasn't been on the forum this week much and we were all gravely concerned as we knew the flooding was near her, however shes back and we are thrilled.

Its also made me realise what a great community we have their and how we always look out for one another and support one another no matter what we are going through.

So yer is there anyone you are supporting through the flooding?

I'm happy your friend contacted you. I's terrible to have so much water into your house. It destroyes everything. It must have been terrifying for you knowing that your friend lives in a flooded part.
We here in Belgium have that too, frequently actually but never in the size you now have.
I am luckily living in a street where it is impossible to flood over. If we get water in our house, that would mean that several cities and towns are completely vanished under water.

Luckily no one I know has been affected by the flooding and I am so glad that your friend is okay. It must have been so reasurring for her to know that everyone was supporting and thinking of her.

:) Huggles thanks

Yes it is amazing I had a card from her this morning which has excited me.

I just can't help now wonder what would happen if we already lived soemwhere like Venice?

Is the water now getting away? Or is it still a problem in your country.
You must try to look on the bright side; you now all can have a free swim and catch your own fresh fish.
Sorry, bad joke for those who are in the middle of it.

Water levels aren't currently rising around here. My work was in the Flood Watch area and the river didn't even break :x - would have been a day off work

Some of the water levels are lowering but only because where my friend is she is on a hill so it is just going down further into the towns.

Her sister was lucky enough that there are kind people out there who let her and her friends stay without charge and fed them etc, the waters are now passable but some of the shops and houses in that area have irreparable damage and is going to cost thousands to be sorted.
