Is anybody watching it this year?
I love the auditions 'cos you get the deluded ones who can't sing to save their lives, but after the auditions I'm not too fussed. But it seems as if the peopel who win are nowhere to be seen again after!

I don't watch shows like X Factor and Fame Academy, where is Gareth Gates and Alex Parks etc anyway now? Even Will Young who was reasonably successful has disappeared off the face of the earth.

I always find out about the contestants and how bad they are through the newspapers, they appear to be well deluded about their abilities.

I must say I love Alex Parks and have both of her albums, she is in Australia putting her new album together so hopefully she will be back! :)

Yeah Gareth has, I quite like it too! He is the cousin of my mate. He has been a tad quiet to say the least for a while, but I hope he comes back well!

We have the same shows here in Belgium.
It's incredible how many people actually think that they can sing. And what is even worse, their parents or friends seem to think the same way. When the TV interviews them, they say that he/her as a lot of talent. Are they all deaf or what?
Mostly, over here we don't hear much from the winners. Usually who is second has a much better career afterwards.
But it's hilarious though to see the bad ones perform and be so enthusiastic.

What's the current crop of wannabes like on the current series? Because I don't watch it, I wouldn't know but I read enough about it in the papers and see enough promotional clips on tv to know when it's on. The apparent Cowell v Walsh fall out seems to have been a total farce.

Am I right in saying that the results programme of X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing are on at the same time tonight?

My understanding from a colleague is that tomorrow's episode comes from Glasgow, God knows whether I should watch with gritted teeth from behind the couch before deciding whether to laugh or cry. I can imagine Simon ripping the proverbial **** out of the neds who can't string a sentence together never mind hold a few musical notes.

Actually I think he'd be feeling rather sympathetic to them for actually trying
