Either I'm getting old or frugal - but £6.95 to watch a movie is quite high.

Add on to of that a 'small' drink 2.30!

No wonder people download movies, and stay at home - tho if more people went to the movies and didn't download them then it would be cheaper - vicious circle

I felt sorry for the women in front and her 3 children! Most have broken the bank for them!

I took my 2 nieces to the cinema last year and nearly died when I calculated the total cost taking the tickets and food stall costs into the equation. For me personally, it has to be a movie I REALLY want to see to encourage me to the local cinema.

It's like any form of entertainment now, getting more & more expensive.

Wow, that is expansive. I thought we had to pay a lot. We pay around 7 euro, which is more or less £ 4.75.
So, when I am in the UK, I don't have to go a cinema, that is for sure.

You get discount if you're a student but it's still expensive, I rarely go

It does sound expensive but then I guess that depends on the type of lifestyle you choose to lead, if your someone who doesn't go out regularly then it's not expensive and is a well deserved night out, however if you choose to do lots of expensive things like chat on the phone loads, day trips out, shopping, clubbing, meals out then yes it is expensive, having said that I believe the last thing I saw in the cinema was American Pie the wedding or was it the Day after tomorrow...regardless it was around 3 or more years ago so I wouldn't know about the cost and therefore if I went the cost wouldn't bother me as it's not something I do frequently.

I disagree, I think its expensive whether you go out alot or not, I mean nearly seven quid to see a film...it's mental, I don't go that much anymore, unless my mum or dad volunteers to pay.

Anyone been to see Sleuth at the movies yet? It was out on Friday (23.11) and I was thinking about going to see it within the next couple of weeks. At least it'll provide the opportunity to compare the cinema v theatre productions granted that audience expections & experiences will be varied.

Cost me nearly £14 for a couple of tickets to see Stardust recently. I do think that's pretty expensive, so it's just as well the film was good :)

I quite fancy going to see Mama Mia at the cinema this weekend, with Colin Firth & Pierce Brosnan in it, it should be good. And you can't whack a bit of Abba.

In our cinema it really depends on what film you're seeing. For me if you're seeing a U - 12 then it's £4.50 but if your seeing a 15-18 then it's £5.40.The drinks and lot not they're fairy cheap, you get a 2 litre of coke or whatever for like £1.20 and then a family size bag of whatever for the same price as in the shops. The last film I went to see... I actually can't remember it was that long ago  I fancy going to see The Eye, Mama Mia and Sex in the City..

Still waiting for my other half to take me to see Indy 4. At this rate it would be easier to wait for the DVD... Think he's worried I'll get over-excited at the sight of Harrison Ford, haha
