Hello Shelli and group,
Yesterday I had the pleasure of receiving a reply from Mr. Victor Kros, a friend of Mr. Glen A. Larson. In it, he indicated that Will Ferrell has expressed strong interest in being in the remake. (Yes, him. So it would be a campy comedy, not unlike the remake of Starsky & Hutch). I asked Mr. Kros for permission to share the info, and he asked me to share it as "tentative" meaning that no decisions have been made, and the details are sketchy at best, although Will Ferrell does seem serious about starring in it. (I'm assuming he would be the Manimal).
I googled "Will Ferrell" + Manimal found out that he mentioned Manimal in one of his movies, and then an article where it said that a Jonathan Ross (of a UK show) brought up Manimal during an interview with Will Ferrell. Although that article said "he bo
ught up Manimal", I'm assuming the missing "R" was a typo here, and that he meant "brought up" as in the subject, and not bought the rights.
At any rate, I thought you would be interested in this bit of info, if only because with a remake, it's going to be our best chance for the official DVD release. And let's also hope that they give our own Mr. Simon MacCorkindale at the very least a cameo bit, like Jaclyn Smith did for "Charlie's Angels" and David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser did for "Starsky & Hutch".
Maybe this (very tentative) info will be news to Simon as well?
