Rollercoaster ride for actor MacCorkindale by Barbara Hodgson, The Journal, Newcastle, 30 June 2008

Nice interview. My personal thrill comes here:

Quote:
There are discussions, he says, of also taking it to the West End and even the US.

What??!!

I read that and am not surprised but that (I added this to the Sleuth external review topic) as he's said before a regret he has is not doing Broadway in the mid 90's and if Sleuth gets him there that would be good (tho it mean him leaving the UK for a bit)

That's the reason I presume he's so excited about it going to the West End - one step closer

I hope Simon can address that regret and lay it to triumphant rest.

Broadway critics are horrendous, though. I know Simon can do the part brilliantly, but I'm concerned that reviewers will agree with the gloomy Glasgow reviewer and call the material "dated". (I get rather annoyed when they don't accept it in the spirit it is offered: that this is a snapshot of the chauvinistic attitudes of the late 60s and early 70s. Can you tell?)

Anyway, fingers crossed. This would bring the play 1000 miles closer to me! Not that I'm being selfish or anything...

Oh, and bring Michael! :beg:
